Darjeeling Himalayan Railway
In November 2000 I visited the tiny railway in the Indian Himalayas. It winds its way up the foothills from 300 meters above see level to well over 2000 meters at Darjeeling. On its way there it loops three times and zigzags six times. My story is so far unfortunately only in Swedish.

I searched for the remains of this unique railway in Western Ireland in the autumn of 1997. In Liselton I met the son of a collector who has what are probably the only physical remains of the line. My story is so far unfortunately only in Swedish.

Qoornoq X-press, narrow gauge railway on Greenland
I In 1955 the "Kongelige Gronlandske Handel" built a facility for the drying of fish at Qoornoq in the Godthaab fjord. A 600 mm gauge railway was built between the scaffolding and the harbour. The facility was closed in 1971 when Qoornoq was abandoned and the inhabitants moved to Godthaab. The pictures are from a trip made in July 2003.
