Listowel
& Ballybunion Railway
I searched for the remains of this unique railway in Western Ireland in the autumn of 1997. In Liselton I met the son of a collector who has what are probably the only physical remains of the line. My story is so far unfortunately only in Swedish.
Qoornoq
X-press, narrow gauge railway on Greenland
I
In 1955 the "Kongelige Gronlandske Handel" built a facility for the drying of fish at Qoornoq in the Godthaab fjord. A 600 mm gauge railway was built between the scaffolding and the harbour. The facility was closed in 1971 when Qoornoq was abandoned and the inhabitants moved to Godthaab. The pictures are from a trip made in July 2003.
